I took a course related to software development in Oulu, and it required a training period in a company that makes SW. Since I have an educational background from medical engineering, I decided to apply as a trainee at Optomed. Luckily, I got in and have been working for Optomed since 2016.

Challenging tasks with products that include both hardware and software design motivate me. It is interesting to be in close touch with the product development process. Of course, making a product that improves health and wellbeing is a big motivator also.

Prior to joining Optomed, I have worked as a research assistant, electronics assembler, freelance photographer and in other miscellaneous tasks. I hold a Master’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Tampere University of Technology.

Outside of work I play guitar and listen to music. I also practice improvisational theatre, and like spending time in nature hiking and photographing.
