Meet Laura Pudas, Customer Service Manager, Optomed.
Tell us about your background and role at Optomed
I studied at the Oulu University of Applied Science. We had three business project courses in 2016 and I got the opportunity to come to Optomed to complete these projects. The topic was product data management in the Windchill system.
These projects opened up the opportunity for a summer job at Optomed and I took that chance. After graduating in early 2017, I got my first full-time job as a Product Engineer. I worked with product information and components for about a year before I got the opportunity to work in customer service. I started as a Customer Service Manager in 2018 and am still on that road.
What do you like best at your job?
There are no two similar days in my work and it brings a nice variation. It’s important that every feedback is handled in the best possible way so customer gets a positive feeling about our communication and process.
I especially like to be in the “front row” and in a visible role to customers. Interaction is a soul of this job and after many years I have started to know our customers. It’s the most important thing for me in my current role.
What’s one thing most people don’t know about you?
Well.. I’m not a city person and I try to avoid traffic jams, especially in cities. This is probably because I come from a small village and have always lived in a peaceful area surrounded by forest. Also when choosing a holiday destination, I prefer to travel to the Lapland than to the south, due to that same reason. 🙂
